Oswaldo Sagástegui

Sagástegui is a painter who has explored different currents including abstract, hyper-illusionist, ultramodernist painting and even realistic painting. His art features saturated and contrasting colors, often based on geometric figures. Interested in the role that painting has in a world where its disappearance was discussed, Sagástegui explores color and form with anecdote, often loaded with intersecting planes, directions, and dimensions. In his most recent works, he combines drawing with painting to generate narratives that are sometimes politically charged.
