An edition of 6,000 copies of this book was printed. Format 91/16 × 77/8 inches. It includes numerous reproductions in black and white and in colors, printed by Draeger.
Chagall made 15 lithographs for this book, 5 of which are on two facing pages. Two of the lithographs are in black and white, while the 13 others, including the cover, are in colors.
Separate printing was made on Arches with large margins of 90 copies of each lithograph, numbered and signed by the artist. The dimensions indicated are those of the [impressions] on Arches.
In this book several lithographs have been slightly trimmed in binding.
